Thankyou for your support!

We’d like to thank all of our supporters in Burgess Hill and the surrounding areas for their votes in May 4th local government elections. Although things have quickly moved onto the upcoming general election, the Liberal Democrat share of the vote was significantly increased in Burgess Hill, with a win for Kirsty Lord in Burgess Hill South & Hassocks. Congratulations Kirsty!

Your liberal democrat team will continue to campaign on behalf of all Burgess Hill residents for local services, for fair contributions from developers towards local infrastructure, and to hold the local councils to account!

Local Election Day Today!

Today, May 4th, is local election day! Polling stations are open 7am to 10pm. You don’t need your polling card to vote!

We hope that you’ll support our candidates, to ensure we can provide active opposition to hold the Tory party to account, campaign for local service improvements and to fight for funding for local schools

This is a chance for voters in Burgess Hill to change direction of the country

Voters in Burgess Hill should vote for the Liberal Democrats to change the direction of the country and ensure Britain has a decent opposition, the party’s local spokesperson has said today.

The Prime Minister today has called a snap General Election to be held on the 8th June.

Burgess Hill Liberal Democrat Chairperson Robert Eggleston commented:

“This election is a huge opportunity for voters in Burgess Hill to change the direction of our country and ensure Britain has a decent opposition.

People in Burgess Hill may have voted to leave the EU, but many did not vote for the extreme form of Brexit that Theresa May has imposed on us after being backed by Labour.  For all those who want to protect our local economy by staying in the Single Market and ensure the people have the final say over what comes next, this is your chance.

The Liberal Democrats are the real opposition to the Conservative Brexit Government and the only party fighting for a Britain that is open, tolerant and united.”

Local Lib Dems clean up in Burgess Hill

Following complaints from local residents about the condition of land to the rear of the Burgess Hill Inn, Roger Cartwright and Graham Allen of Burgess Hill Liberal Democrats organised an impromptu clean up.

“We didn’t just take away load of rubbish to the tip, said Roger, “but also asked the District Council to take action to get the owners to make the place safe. There is a large pond on the land and any small child could wander in and get into danger now that the summer months are coming”.

Do you have concerns about rubbish in your part of Burgess Hill?  Would you like to volunteer to help with future community cleanup activities?  Let us know!.
